No other grocery store has a cult following quite like Trader Joe’s. Whether you’re obsessed with Mandarin Orange Chicken or the new lavender tote bags, there’s something for everyone to love.

That’s why Trader Joe’s is one of the grocery chains expanding right now — and they’ve just announced new stores in a dozen states. If you’re hoping for a new TJ’s near you, see if your city is on the list.

Why is Trader Joe’s Opening New Locations?

Well, people love it because it feels like a good experience every time you go. It’s not the cheapest grocery store out there, but it offers a wide range of specialty, organic, and special diet products — and those products are often priced lower than other stores.

Employees are super friendly (many will even give you flowers or a treat at the checkout if you’re having a bad day or celebrating something), and you can even return items you don’t like for a refund, similar to Costco and its generous return policy. And, of course, lots of the private label foods are fantastic. For all those reasons and many more, it’s a great place to shop.

When Will They Open?

Unfortunately, Trader Joe’s doesn’t include the grand opening dates on its website, so we don’t know exactly when any of these locations will be opening. The company did confirm to USA Today, however, that all these locations will be opening in the next three to six months, so you shouldn’t have to wait long.

If you live near one of the planned locations, it’s probably best to watch your local news outlets for more information. Trader Joe’s is so popular that there will undoubtedly be lots of media hype as the opening gets closer.
